Dyer regrets on Robson

Kieron Dyer said that the biggest regret of his career was to allow Bobby Robson to be sacked at Newcastle United.

He admitted that he had a great relationship with the Newcastle coach at this time and he said that he was wrong to get him sacked.

He stated that Sir Bobby Robson was always good to him and that they had a good working relationship. He said that the manager always seeks to protect him when he was not playing well and attacked by the media, but he feels that he was the culprit for letting him being sacked by the club.

Kieron Dyer said that he refused to follow the manager’s instructions to play in a particular position on the field and this is what caused a problem between him and the manager. He said that once he agreed to play, he did not give his best and ultimately he became the target of the media and the fans.

Instead of blaming him, Bobby Robson protected him and shielded him from negative comments. For Kieron Dyer, this is what caused Robson to be sacked as the manager of the team, and he feels that he could have helped the manager by playing better.

Kieron Dyer said that Sir Bobby Robson was the best manager that he has ever worked with and that he was great at managing people. He admitted that Sir Bobby Robson was not a great manager when it comes to tactics but he knows how to get the most out of his players.

For Kieron Dyer, this was the main reason why Newcastle United was able to challenge for European places at his time, and they were always getting great results against the better sides. He said that his only regret was not to help the manager keep his job.

KIERON DYER FORESEES NEWCASTLE UNITED’S BRIGHT FUTURE

Former Newcastle United player, Kieron Dyer believes relegation was the best thing that could have happened to his former side, Newcastle United.

Kieron Dyer, who appeared 190 times for Newcastle United, found net 23 times for his team. He was part of the Bobby Robson side who brought Champions League football to Tyneside, but since departing in 2007, the club has spectacularly dropped from grace.

Nevertheless, since the appointment of Rafa Benitez, the positivity around the club has grown rapidly and it is approaching the good tenures of Robson and Kevin Keegan.

And when Benitez was rebuilding the team in the beginning in the Championship, Dyer believes that relegation was the best thing that could have happened to the club, foreseeing the team will get promoted and never come back down.

Having been asked on Sky Sports’ Goals on Sunday, Dyer said: “I think that it was the best thing that they (Newcastle) went down because they’ve now got a manager who will run the club. They will go straight back up and probably won’t go down ever again. I think Norwich and Newcastle will run away with the league.”

The 37-year old also discussed the former Newcastle and England manager, Kevin Keegan on the show. Talking whether England players get picked on reputation rather than form, Dyer accepted that he did not have such problems while Keegan was in charge of the national side.

“I think the problem with England, even when I was playing and still today, is it’s picked on reputation and not on form and it’s got to be a brave manager who breaks that mould,” Dyer said. “Kevin Keegan was one of those managers who were a bit off the cuff. If you trained well, he played you.”

Newcastle United is currently third on the Championship table with three points and a point behind Huddersfield and Norwich City respectively.

WEST HAM INJURY CURSE CONTINUES

The problems with signings after they join West Ham are becoming more like a pattern looking at records of recent years.

Looking at some additions in recent years; first from the deal of Dean Ashton from Norwich City. Alan Pardew signed him for a club record fee of £7 million, only for him to get an ankle injury while on national team duty. That injury eventually forced his retirement in 2009.

In January 2007, then boss Alan Curbishley signed defender Matthew Upson for £6 million. They were keen to remain in the top flight, hence the signing from Birmingham City. Unfortunately, Upson picked up more than a knock in his very first game, ending his action for the rest of the year. During the summer of that year, they club acquired several players, but with terrible injury records. Craig Bellamy joined from Liverpool for £7.5 million. He had some good moments at Upton Park but the injuries were a major concern. Freddie Ljungberg joined from Arsenal about the same period, playing only 26 games in the only season he spent at the club due to injuries.

Scott Parker and Julian Faubert would not be left out despite the long time they spent at the club as they inured for long in their debut season. The most outstanding transfer fail due to injuries is another Curbishley addition Kieron Dyer. Dyer joined from Newcastle United on a £6 million deal. His leg was broken from the beginning of his time at West Ham, and his subsequent injuries ensured he played in only 22 games in his four year duration at the club. None of the 22 games was for a full game, raising questions as to what the problem really is.

West Ham signed Andre Ayew from Swansea City for a whopping £20.5 million, yet he picked up an injury in his debut game. The injury would mean he misses half a season, confirming the injury curse.

Kieron Dyer About Dimitri Payet

Dimitri Payet is in the news in West Ham as per Kieron Dyer.

He would know, being an expert on football players and providing his expertise in the world of this sport. He has been talking about Dimitri Payet and his contribution to West Ham. Indeed, with the new season beginning and most clubs revisiting the player ranks, the West Ham club would definitely be looking at retaining this player and offering him a new position on the club and renewing his contract.

Dmitri Payet is one of the players who have proved his worth in Euro 2016. This tournament will definitely work to seal the fate of several players, especially those who have played well. Dimitri is one such player who has starred for the team of France and helped to score twice which is a good performance. Being a winger of Hammers and spent four seasons with the club, this player did not have a good time as he was plagued by injuries several times.

The club itself suffered relegation last season, but Payet and his arrival last season from Marseille have seen him become a hero. Last season worked well for him and concluded with his good performance at a major league. This was his debut in a major tournament and the form that he showed in Euro 2016 has even attracted the attention of clubs like Real Madrid. West Ham is definitely looking forward to retaining him this season. His five year contract will continue till 2021. Payet is definitely on his way to becoming a world class player and it is best that he is given a new contract to work with. The Hammers would be playing the Europa League and that would certainly give him chances to improve and test his skills on the ground.

Kieron’s Big Hearted Deed For Charity

Newcastle United doing Poor in Defense Zone

Newcastle United have suffered heavily in terms of defensive strength this season.

They have conceded 53 goals in the league, which is the second worst tally. This has been one of the primary reasons behind their relegation battle. If the club fail to recover their form in the next couple of matches, there is a good chance of the club experiencing relegation for the first time since 2009. Back then, one of the major reasons behind the club’s entry into the Championship was the inability to score goals and several managerial changes over the season.

Now, however, the players can only be blamed at the poor form. Former star Kieron Dyer, though, says that the defensive partnership of Fabricio Coloccini and Steven Taylor alone cannot be blamed for the goals conceded. Coloccini was once revered as the best central defender in the Premier League playing for one of the club’s outside the top four. Taylor has gone through several injury hit campaigns in the past, but he has always been viewed as a quality defender. Dyer says that the entire team has to contribute if the team is to do well defensively. He says that there has been a shortage in this regard with many players playing as individuals.

“They (Coloccini and Taylor) are not terrible players. When you are in the bottom of the league, you have got 52,000 people who can turn with any kind of mistake, it does knock your confidence,” said Dyer. It must be widely anticipated that Coloccini may decide to return to Argentina if the club are relegated. The 34-year-old has already received a lot of interest from his homeland. Things can get only worse for Newcastle, as they are up against table leaders Leicester City. Since they are chasing the title, Newcastle can expect no favours.

MesutOzil believes that he is too selfless and he wants to change this

Arsenal’s MesutOzil is convinced that in order to win more titles not only for his country or for his club but also for himself, he will have to become more selfish and start scoring goals instead of passing them to his teammates.

The German midfielder was asked about the possibility of him winning major titles including the Ballon d’Or and MesutOzil responded by saying that he can achieve it but in order for this to happen he needs to score more goals and think more of himself instead of being so selfless.

Ozil’s aim is to score more goals than he has ever scored in his playing career. The 26 year old midfielder took a chance to voice his aspirations for this new season as MesutOzil talked in a press conference and he said:“I want to score more goals than in the last two seasons and that’s my aim for this season. My aim is to help the team and I’ll do all I can to achieve that. In truth I’m more the sort of player who doesn’t really go for goal, I tend to look for my team-mates and think: ‘Can I play this pass?. I want to improve this. To achieve it, I have to be a bit more egotistical’’

MesutOzil is one of the star players of Arsenal and who has more pressure of guiding the attacking department of the Premier League club which he is certainly more than capable of doing but when it comes to winning the Ballon d’Or, this is a much more difficult task to accomplish as Lionel Messi and C.Ronaldo have been playing sublime for the past few seasons and it has allowed them on lifting the individual award with no one else coming close of taking it away.

The farthest that MesutOzil reached to win the Ballon d’Or title was back in 2011 when he was ranked in the 11th spot which has been his best placement but he has slipped ever since then as Ozil couldn’t even make it in the 23 man short-list of last year.

Jamie Carragher is of no opinion about Kolo changed mind og Yaya

Jamie Carragher is of no opinion that it was Liverpool defender Kolo Toure who ended up changing the mind of Yaya Touré, who wanted to leave Manchester City in the summer.

Yaya Touré came in for a huge amount of criticism after his club’s failure to retain the league title. Touré was very close to joining Inter Milan after his mentor Roberto Mancini expressed his desire to be reunited with the Ivory Coast international. However, the move is thought to have failed at the last moment due to a change of mind by the player. This is believed to have come due to the words of Touré.

Carragher says that Touré, who has represented the likes of Arsenal and Manchester City in the Premier league, did not want his brother to leave the English top division at this stage in his career. Despite being 32 years old, Yaya Touré continues to be held as one of the best midfielders in the world. He is learning a mammoth £ 220,000 per week and this contract is unlikely to be matched by Inter Milan, who have been not doing well financially even after the arrival of new owners. After Kolo Toure himself came close to leaving Liverpool last summer, he has decided to stay be signing a new contract.

“I bumped into Kolo Toure at Liverpool’s academy during the summer and he had clearly played a part in changing his brother’s attitude. He’d told him to stay at City because he is a legend there and to leave after the poor season he had would taint his legacy,” said Carragher. Touré is on course to becoming a legend at City if he manages to bring the Champions League title to the club. They have made a fantastic start to the season with Touré scoring in the 3-0 win over West Brom.
